Childcare or Montessori?

When parents are considering childcare, or daycare, for their child, Montessori may not enter the discussion early enough. Often Montessori school is considered once children have reached an age around kindergarten, but Montessori principles and activities can be beneficial beginning in infancy.

Montessori Childcare for Infants and Toddlers?

Yes! Sensory and language learning begin in infancy. At home, parents make continuous efforts to communicate and present their very young children with engaging sounds, music, color, and many facets of early learning. Daycare may not continue this effort while parents are away, but Montessori does. Montessori education for infants and toddlers is provided by knowledgeable, educated caregivers and staff, and involves observation, interaction, and encouragement. The underlying Montessori structure supports engagement and prepares for a child’s development very early, evolving along with the natural transitions growing children experience.

So, is it Daycare, Childcare or Montessori?

All of these, and more! At Amazing Beginnings Montessori and Eagan Montessori Academy South, we combine Montessori education with the Creative Curriculum, as well as the natural strengths of our teachers and staff. In this way, children are creatively supported toward success as a whole person: social skills, emotional growth, physical coordination, and cognitive development are all supported. Importantly, parents are part of the picture too, with continuous communication between individual room teachers and home.
